Fasting Day 18: The Calvary Road, Part 1

According to Matthew 3:16, after Jesus was baptized, when He came up out of the water, the heavens opened and the Holy Spirit descended on him like a dove.  The Holy Spirit had always been with Jesus. (Luke 1:35, 2 Cor. 3:17) When the Spirit came on Him, it was preparation for what was to come and assurance of the Father’s guidance and help. God... read more

Three Truths for Stormy Seasons

This is a guest post by Tami Lee Hughes. You can read more about her below. At an early age, I learned that life is an adventure with highs, lows, and everything in between. Although we embrace the good times, we also experience hardship, loss, suffering, and things that are difficult to understand. I entered an intense period of trials just over one year ago.  In a period of three weeks, my aunt died... read more

Fasting Day 15: For the Nation

In yesterday’s post, we prayed for the little ones, repenting for the shedding of the innocent blood of over 50 million babies — a sin that has polluted our land and invited God’s judgment. Israel did not escape God’s judgment for killing innocent children…and neither will we. For God is the same yesterday, today, and forever. “If God does not judge America, He must... read more

Fasting Day 12: If I Fast Without My Husband, Will It Still Help?

People around the world are fasting with Pursuit 21. Consequently, I receive many questions about fasting — whether via email, social media, or post comment. The following question was posed in a comment on The Ezra Fast. Someone else who is fasting may have the same question, so I thought I would share my answer here in the event it would be of help to others as well. Question: I am married to a... read more

Why Is It So Hard For Christians to Pray? (David Wilkerson Sermon)

There are many reasons why so many Christians find it hard to pray. But prayer is a necessity, not a luxury. If we give God quality time he will answer us. When we mix our prayers with faith, they will work. To neglect prayer is to neglect God and the salvation he gave us. To not take advantage of the access given to us through the blood of Jesus is to take it lightly and do despite to the grace of God.... read more

Persisting in Secret Prayer: Fasting Day 11

How much did you pray this morning? How much do you tarry before the throne of God every day? This is the fifth year I’ve led Pursuit 21 … and never in these years has God laid a burden on my heart to emphasize prayer like He has this year. I don’t claim to know all of His reasons, but I do know this one: He wants us to emerge from this fast as men and women of prayer. As men and women... read more
