When you access www.shadesofgrace.org, we will learn certain information about you, both automatically and through voluntary actions you may take, during your visit. This policy applies to information we collect on the Website and in email, text, or other electronic messages between you and the Website.

Specific regions of the world now require different privacy disclosures, so please read the entire policy to be sure you fully understand our practices. By using the Website, you accept and agree to be bound and abide by the Privacy Policy. Through the use of www.shadesofgrace.org, you consent to the following data procedures expressed within this agreement.

Information We Collect About You

When you access shadesofgrace.org, we will learn certain information about you during your visit. The Website provides various places for users to provide information. We collect information that users provide through filling out forms on the Website, communicating with us via contact forms, providing comments or other feedback, and providing information when making a donation via the Website.

We use information you provide to us in order to serve you — to provide the ministry, teaching, and/or encouragement you have sought; deliver the item to which you have subscribed (newsletter, blog updates); answer your questions; respond to your feedback; process your donation; improve our overall performance; and provide you with offers and information.

Information We Collect Through Automatic Data Collection Technology

Like many other web sites, shadesofgrace.org makes use of log files. These files log visitors to the site. This is a standard procedure for hosting companies and a part of hosting services’s analytics.

The information inside the log files includes internet protocol (IP) addresses, browser type, device type (e.g. desktop or mobile), Internet Service Provider (ISP), date/time stamp, referring/exit pages, and possibly the number of clicks.

This information is used to analyze trends, administer the site, track user’s movement around the site, and gather demographic information.

The information we collect automatically is used for statistical data and will not include personal information.

Information Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell, rent, lease or otherwise transfer any information collected whether automatically or through your voluntary action.

We may disclose your personal information to our subsidiaries, affiliates, and service providers for the purpose of providing our services to you.

We may disclose your personal information in response to subpoenas, court orders, or legal processes, or to establish and/or exercise our legal rights.

Data Storage and Transfers

We employ commercially reasonable methods to ensure the security of the information you provide to us and the information we collect automatically. Please be aware that no method of transmission over the internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure and we are unable to guarantee the absolute security of the Personal Information we have collected from you.

Email is not recognized as a secure medium of communication. For this reason, we request that you do not send private information to us by email. However, doing so is allowed, but at your own risk. Credit Card information and other sensitive information is never transmitted via email.

Some of the information you may enter on our Website may be transmitted securely via a secure medium known as Secure Sockets Layer, or SSL. Credit Card information and other sensitive information is never transmitted via email.

With regard to online donation transactions, we are committed to the security of your personal information in compliance with Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS). We have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect online. We use Internet Encryption Software, Secure Socket Layer (SSL) Protocol, when collecting or transferring credit card information. Any information you enter is encrypted at your browser and sent over the internet in encrypted form to the payment processor (Braintree Payment Solutions, a division of Paypal). After you submit a donation, we receive a copy of the form you submitted (containing your contact information, donation amount/frequency, and prayer request, but no payment details) as well as a copy of your automatically generated receipt. We never see your full credit card number — only the last four digits, as displayed in your automatically generated receipt.

Our online forms are created and hosted through a service called Wufoo, a division of Survey Monkey. Wufoo’s privacy policy is available here.

You may view Braintree Payment Solution’s privacy policy here.

Cookies

Similar to other websites, our website utilizes a standard technology called “cookies” and server logs to collect information about how our site is used. Information gathered through cookies and server logs may include the date and time of visits, the pages viewed, time spent at our site, and the websites visited just before and just after our own, as well as your IP address.

A cookie is a very small text document, which often includes an anonymous unique identifier. When you visit a website, that site’s computer asks your computer for permission to store this file in a part of your hard drive specifically designated for cookies. Each website can send its own cookie to your browser if your browser’s preferences allow it, but (to protect your privacy) your browser only permits a website to access the cookies it has already sent to you, not the cookies sent to you by other sites.

Local cookies include:

  • Google Analytics: The goal of the various Google Analytics cookies is Website analytics. Google Analytics helps us track Website usage and statistics.
  • CloudFlare: The __cfduid cookie is used to identify individual clients behind a shared IP address and apply security settings on a per-client basis. For example, if you visit our Website in a coffee shop where there are a bunch of infected machines, but your machine is trusted (e.g. because you’ve completed a security challenge), this cookie allows Cloudflare to identify you and not present you with a security challenge again. It does not correspond to any user ID and does not store any personally identifiable information.
  • Quantcast (Shareaholic): Shareaholic provides the social share buttons at the bottom of our posts and pages. Shareaholic helps us know how many times our content has been shared online.

Third Party Use of Cookies

Some content or applications, including advertisements, on the Website are served by third-parties, including advertisers, ad networks and servers, content providers, and application providers. These third parties may use cookies alone or in conjunction with web beacons or other tracking technologies to collect information about you when you use our website. The information they collect may be associated with your personal information or they may collect information, including personal information, about your online activities over time and across different websites and other online services. They may use this information to provide you with interest-based (behavioral) advertising or other targeted content.

We do not control these third parties’ tracking technologies or how they may be used. If you have any questions about an advertisement or other targeted content, you should contact the responsible provider directly.

International Transfers

Your information, including Personal Information, may be transferred to — and maintained on — computers located outside of your state, province, country or other governmental jurisdiction where the data protection laws may differ than those from your jurisdiction. If you are located outside United States and choose to provide information to us, please note that we transfer the information, including Personal Information, to the United States and process it there. Your consent to this Privacy Policy followed by your submission of such information represents your agreement to that transfer.

We have no control over, and assume no responsibility for the content, privacy policies or practices of any third party sites or services.

Email Information

If you choose to correspond with us through email, we may retain the content of your email messages together with your email address and our responses. This also applies when you register for our website, sign up through any of our forms using your email address or make a donation on this site. For further information see the email policies below.
